I should add that I once worked in a building with a modern glass lobby, and there were no clear handles of any sort, so not only did you not know whether to push or pull, you didn't know which side of the door to push or pull on, because the hinges were hidden in the ceiling. You'd see people all day smack into them, push, pull, then realize they were on the wrong side of the door. I bet the architect installed a camera just for laughs.

Violates a basic rule of usability: the form should reflect the function. Handles are for pulling, while flat areas are for pushing.

Thanks for doing the legwork on these. Although I feel strangely emotionally empty after having watched them.

Not a cartoon, but one of my favorite 80s videos, in which Hulk Hogan nearly kills Richard Belzer in a headlock. Belzer sued him and settled for an undisclosed amount -- but apparently enough to buy a really nice house in France.

I include the long version because it's worth the buildup...and to see what a total psycho Mr. T. is:

One time Graham and I were talking about Thundercats when Graham suddenly realized I was in High School/College when the series aired. Awkward.

Every time I think you and I are about the same age, I realize you are one generation of cartoons younger than me.

I use them too, but I never refer back to them once I write them. Also I write them more like outlines than checklist. I really go old school and use notepad. Actually, I pretty much use notepad for all my writing. It opens up in a nano-second and their no formatting. Just text.

A couple years ago, I started making checklists. Now I use Google Tasks, or just a piece of paper. It is life changing.
