The AT&T downfall continues

“The annual survey of wireless customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports hits the streets this week and it doesn’t have much good to say about AT&T. In a canvass of more than 50,000 readers spanning 26 U.S. cities, the organization found the carrier had the lowest customer-satisfaction rating in 19 cities surveyed; Verizon ranked highest.” ~ AllThingsD

The Apple/AT&T saga continues. Once againAT&T wouldn’t have these problems if we could just get away from these idiotic exclusive phone/carrier deals. Hopefully, this will be a lesson learned. It only ends up costing customer frustration and angry.

The funny part for me is that I don’t even care about the phone part. If anyone is listening, I just want the iTouch with stable 3G access.  I’ll go and buy a cheap pre-paid cell phone and be perfectly happy.

iPhone App of the Day: TabToolkit

TabToolkit, like GuitarToolkit, is another amazing iPhone app from Agile Partners. If to want to start learning the guitar or pick up some new songs, this is the app for you.

I know this is cliché, but it bears repeating, the rise of mobile computing is the next revolution. The inherit limitations of mobile (small screen and computing power) have become the leading forces in creativity and design excellency.

iPhone syncing with multiple computers

Posted in iPhone on October 6th, 2009 by admin – Be the first to comment

Syncing my iPhone has always been frustrating. I have one computer at home (MAC) and one computer at work (PC). Pretty average scenario for most people. So why can I only sync to one iTunes library at a time? It’s my iPhone, my music and my iTunes account. I tried a bunch of hacks but nothing works for me.

Give my multi-sync or give me death!!!

Great new iPhone feature I invented

Posted in iPhone on September 21st, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

Here’s a great feature to improve your iPhone experience. Here are the steps:

  1. Hold iPhone
  2. Make sure the ringer toggle switch is in the on position
  3. Drop iPhone so that it hits the upper left-hand corner of the phone
  4. Repeat until ringer toggle switch is broken

Now you will never have to miss a call again because the ringer was switched off. Now if I could just place or receive a call without getting dropped.

Alive4ever

Killing zombies has always been a favorite of video games. There’s nothing better than blowing a zombies head off. Why? Because those brain eaters deserve it. Now you to0 can blow away rotting corpses from the privacy of your own iPhone with Alive4ever.

Great sound and graphics. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the game, is that a good quarter of the screen is taken up with the touch screen joystick controls. Since your fingers are positioned in the lower right and left hand corners, you can’t see some zombies sneak up on you. The touch-screen interface doesn’t match up to your the old reliable direction pad and buttons for first-person shooters.

Killing Nazi zombies is ever better.

Wolfenstein RPG

Posted in games, iPhone on August 24th, 2009 by admin – 2 Comments

Just finished Wolfenstein RPG on the iPhone. Anyone who played the original Wolfenstein 3D, or it predessor Doom, will be pleased. The game’s graphics have been updated, but it still carries the old pixelated spirit. Basically, you are running around a maze, taking out Nazi’s and their super-soldier experiments with your fists, pistols, machine guns, flame throwers, rocket launchers and a few other special weapons. Given the limitations iPhone interface for first-person shooters, Id software decided, smartly, to make it a turn-based (hence the RPG in the title) game. This alleviates the stress of trying to quickly fire by smash your finger against the screen. It also add a bit of strategy to using health packs, weapons and which enemy to take out first.

If you like to shoot Nazis and demons from hell (who the heck doesn’t?), then this is your game.
