Vote for the worst 80s cartoons

My heart sank every time I would hear the intros to one of these cartoons. Want to know something even worse? I would watch them anyways. Pathetic.

Mr. T – Gymnastics!!? Why not a mime troupe?

Rambo – Training video for our future right-wing militia groups

Chuck Norris Karate Commandos – Chuck Norris sleeps with a pillow under his gun.

GoBots – A poor man’s Transformers

Rubik, The Amazing Cube – Act 1: Match 1 Side; Act 2: Match 2 Sides; Act 3: Throw in Trashcan

Double Dragon – Punch Kick Punch Kick Punch Kick…

The Gary Coleman Show – Can’t think of anything

Ewoks – The beginning of the end for Lucas

Hulk Hogan’s Rockin’ Wrestling – Wasn’t the WWF just a live-action cartoon in itself? Seems redundant.

Jem and the Holograms – It’s all about the hair.

  1. Every time I think you and I are about the same age, I realize you are one generation of cartoons younger than me.

  2. One time Graham and I were talking about Thundercats when Graham suddenly realized I was in High School/College when the series aired. Awkward.

  3. Thanks for doing the legwork on these. Although I feel strangely emotionally empty after having watched them.

Not a cartoon, but one of my favorite 80s videos, in which Hulk Hogan nearly kills Richard Belzer in a headlock. Belzer sued him and settled for an undisclosed amount — but apparently enough to buy a really nice house in France.

I include the long version because it’s worth the buildup…and to see what a total psycho Mr. T. is:
